“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” Helen Keller (1880-1968)
Correct – Security is generally a superstition when it comes to CYBER/NETWORK safety that MOST business owners and staff (including administration and managerial) are widely unaware of in the ever-evolving globalized world of cybersecurity hacks, phishing scams, and ongoing network threats. ANY business can be a target including our hospitals, educational facilities, or even world-leading corporations as proven in recent events where new data leaks and lawsuits pertaining to such are continuously ongoing with stories emerging daily worldwide.
Alas, Helen Keller lived in a bygone era and you should NEVER let your business, staff, customer data, or network be at risk to “outright exposure” nor be “a daring adventure” by any means as it comes with far too many consequences for all parties involved. Every employer, employee, administrator, contractor/subcontractor etc., should be aware of the emerging risks pertaining to network security and ongoing staff education/training and company policy/procedure pertaining cybersecurity threats is key to NOT living “a daring adventure” when it comes to risking your business, customer information, and network stability. Proper risk analysis and compliance are also essential to network safety- which makes a cybersecurity expert an essential NEED to your company. Prevention is the best policy.
“Where the main risks lay in regards to cybersecurity are generally where staff don’t actively see or understand; but even worse are blatantly obvious to the untrained eye”. – S.N., 2023
